1. About RiskBrief

RiskBrief ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered intelligence platform that generates pre-mission intelligence dossiers from open-source data. The service is operated at risk-brief.com and is intended for professional use by journalists, security managers, NGOs, field operators, and researchers.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years of age to use this service
• You must be capable of entering into a legally binding agreement
• Use of RiskBrief for any unlawful purpose is strictly prohibited
• You are responsible for ensuring use of the service complies with the laws of your jurisdiction

3. Account Registration

To access the intelligence generation features you must register an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, are used fraudulently, or engage in abusive behaviour.

4. Subscription and Payment

Field Brief (Pay-As-You-Go)

• A single credit entitles you to generate one intelligence dossier
• Credits are non-refundable once used
• Unused credits do not expire

Operational Plan (Monthly Subscription)

• Entitles you to up to 10 dossiers per calendar month
• Monthly allowance resets on the 1st of each month — unused dossiers do not roll over
• Subscription is billed monthly in advance via Stripe
• You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers

Refunds

We do not offer refunds for generated dossiers. If you experience a technical failure that prevented delivery of a dossier you were charged for, contact us at intel@risk-brief.com and we will investigate and credit your account where appropriate.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use RiskBrief only for lawful, professional purposes. You must not:

• Use the service to plan, facilitate, or support any illegal activity
• Submit content that is defamatory, obscene, or in violation of any third-party rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the platform
• Share your account credentials with others or resell access to the service
• Use automated scripts or bots to generate dossiers
• Submit false or misleading mission profiles intended to manipulate output
• Use the service in any way that could harm, disable, or impair the platform

6. Nature of the Intelligence Reports

You acknowledge and agree that:

• Dossiers are generated from publicly available sources and may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information
• The GO/NO-GO assessment is an AI-generated indication only and must not be the sole basis for safety-critical decisions
• RiskBrief dossiers should be used alongside — not as a replacement for — professional security judgement, specialist advice, and your organisation's own risk management processes
• Intelligence conditions can change rapidly; dossiers represent conditions at the time of generation
• You assume full responsibility for decisions made based on dossier content

7. Intellectual Property

The RiskBrief platform, its design, code, and branding are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from the platform itself.

Intelligence dossiers generated using your account are licensed to you for your own professional use. You may share them with colleagues and clients as part of your normal work. You may not resell, publish, or commercially redistribute dossiers without our written consent.

8. Privacy and Data

Your use of RiskBrief is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the service you consent to the data practices described therein.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that dossiers will be accurate, complete, or current.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RiskBrief shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on any dossier content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the service in a manner that could cause harm. On termination, your right to access the service ceases immediately. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide notice of material changes by email to registered users. Continued use of the service after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
